The Bornoff Approach - "It's THE Game-Changer!"

Albert Einstein said, 'the definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.'
If this is true, Debbie Lyle is a genius. Debbie has a rare gift for teaching highly complex concepts in a way that children through adults can receive them with joy and enthusiasm." - Ross DeBardelaben, DMA

Perfect for all levels of teaching experience, this workshop reviews the materials, processes, and pacing of the Bornoff Approach in a heterogeneous or homogeneous class setting. Designed for teachers with any amount of previous Bornoff training, we'll cover the philosophy, psychology, and content unique to Bornoff. It's a great place to get started with the approach, to improve your own playing on a primary or secondary instrument, and to ask detailed questions on how to use it in YOUR program. The focus will be on the processes of "Creative Review" and "Adaptive Lesson Pacing" as we explore three main components of performance at the beginning through intermediate levels:

1. Tone Production – Détaché, Spiccato, Staccato, Portato, and slurred bow strokes
2. Intonation – Finger and Tonal Patterns, scales, and arpeggios
3. Literacy – Pitch Recognition, Rhythmic Reading, Unison Repertoire, Improvisation

Workshop schedule includes time for breaks and lunch!

*It is recommended that participants purchase the Primer Conductor Score, and copies of Finger Patterns and Patterns in Position for their selected instrument of study.
