association together as string consultants throughout North America.
Ms. Chan is Past-President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American String Teachers
with National School Orchestra Association. She has contributed articles to Massachusetts

officially represent Massachusetts in the Washington D.C. Bicentennial Celebration. Also
in that year, the Massachusetts Music Educators Association recognized her with their
Lowell Mason Award for outstanding leadership and contributions in the field of music
education. In June 2000, Ms. Chan retired from her long held position with the Brookline
Massachusetts Public Schools, to devote herself full-time to the FASE, Inc. and its
mission of supporting string teachers with Bornoff materials and training.
Arleen Greene:

involved in the presentation of Bornoff workshops in: North Carolina,
Wisconsin, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Seoul, Korea. A charter member
of FASE, Inc. she has served in a number of capacities. She is
Past-Director of the Bay State String Camp and the Bornoff String

Arleen keeps busy teaching in five towns in Southeast Massachusetts,
playing and performing in the Quincy Symphony, managing the 'Northeast
District Junior High School Orchestra as well as being in charge of
rewriting and restructuring Bornoff materials.
Lisa Bollman:
lisa.bollman@fase.org
LISA BOLLMAN is heavily involved in the Billings, Montana music community as
a performer, educator and conductor. Principal Second Violin in the Billings
Symphony, Lisa performs regularly with regional orchestras, chamber
ensembles and with the Billings Ceilidh (kay-lee) Fiddlers, a
multi-generational Celtic fiddle group. In addition to maintaining a private
violin/viola studio, she directs the Billings Catholic Schools orchestra
program, the Billings Community Orchestra, and two of the ensembles in the
Billings Youth Orchestra (which she helped found in 2006). While looking for
ways to improve her classroom teaching, Lisa happened upon the FASE website
and was immediately hooked. Using the Bornoff approach in her classrooms has
helped her to maintain student interest during those important first years
of mastering a string instrument. Lisa is currently on the faculty of the
Bay State String Camp.
